Jaime Angus graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy from the University of Manitoba in 2000. After working at Children’s Hospital and in private practise, she joined the Donna Sarna Physiotherapy team in 2002. In 2010, Jaime became a partner in the clinic.
Jaime has worked in the area of women’s health for 17 years completing extensive training in the area of pelvic floor therapy through both the Canadian and American systems. She has also completed level 4 visceral manipulation, the level 3 Barnes Myofascial release program, and cranial sacral therapy. Jaime has also trained in gyneoncology and breast cancer rehabilitation. She has been a Pilates instructor for over 15 years, teaching beginner level to intermediate classes. Jaime along with her partner Donna, also developed a special population class for Cancer Rehabilitation which she has taught since 2011. Jaime has completed her level 1 Hypopressives training.
As a physiotherapist, much of her work now focuses on women’s health, including pelvic floor (incontinence, pain, prolapse, endometriosis), birth preparation, gyn-oncology and breast cancer rehabilitation. She also works with children on incontinence issues. Another area of special interest for her is working with clients with vocal dysphonia.
Along with Donna, Jaime helped to develop a course for physiotherapists on the orthopedic role of the pelvic floor. She is a frequent presenter on women’s health to the public as well as to health care professionals. Currently, Jaime and Donna are developing a post-partum garment (combined with an exercise protocol) for women who experience diastasis recti.
Jaime takes a whole-body approach to treatment, and uses a combination of all of her training to provide the best care for her clients. She focuses on her clients’ goals and provides them with all of the necessary tools to help them achieve them.
Jaime enjoys playing most sports, with a passion for ultimate that she has played for over 20 years. She loves being outdoors, hiking and biking and spending time with her two daughters.
